A Happy Birthday salute to Reuben Garret Lucius Goldberg, better known simply as Rube Goldberg (July 4, 1883 – December 7, 1970) cartoonist, sculptor, author, engineer, and inventor. He is famous, some might say infamous, for his Rube Goldberg machines. He received a 1948 Pulitzer Prize for his political cartooning.The Reuben Award of the National Cartoonists Society is named in his honor.
